Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds…..
Don’t even ask me why but this song keeps playing in my head the whole day
"Picture yourself in a boat on a river, with tangerine trees and marmalade skies.
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,a girl with caleidoscope eyes.
Cellophane flowers of yellow and green, towering over your head.
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyesand she's gone.
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
,Lucy in the sky with diamonds,
Lucy in the sky with diamonds, ah, ah."
According to the Beatles, one day in 1967, Lennon's son Julian came home from nursery school with a finger painting that he said was of his classmate, four-year-old named Lucy O'Donnell. Showing the artwork to his father, young Julian described the picture as "Lucy - in the sky with diamonds".
But for me the song takes me on a rather soulful plane. its as if there a piece of you that you leave behind along with your childhood dreams of happy faces, marshmallow pies.. and flowers which waver so high above you. I think we loose the wonder of innocence as we move along. Everything becomes so jaded and you loose the sense of excitement that you felt when you discover something new. Its a attitude of I’ve seen that and been there before. Yesterday , I looked up at a night clouded sky and the play of the colors in the night sky took my breath away and I caught a sudden twinkle of the stars… that’s when I think the gal with Kaleidoscope eyes peeked thru me again..:).So I think Im going back to discover what I lost along the way
Joke as promised:
A man in a bar sees a friend at a table, drinking by himself. Approaching the friend he comments, "You look terrible. What's the problem?" "My mother died in June," he said, "and left me Rs.10,000." "Gee, that's tough," he replied. "Then in July," the friend continued, "My father died, leaving me Rs.50,000." "Wow. Two parents gone in two months. No wonder you're depressed." "And last month my aunt died, and left me Rs.15,000." "Three close family members lost in three months? How sad." "Then this month," continued, the friend, "nothing!"

Hi Anu, I am not good at poems, so i cannot comment on the first half of your blog, but i like this style of finishing your blog with a joke. It does add some spice and attract more readers. It was a nice joke with a message, only that the man in your joke was a bit outdated so he could not understand the sentiments of current day materialistic whiz kids' mind.
Nice blogging. Keep it up.
hey there, what happened to 'AnonymouslyYours'. Anu, are you giving away your identity, or is it just another pen name, a la Jahnvi
Its a pen name... as Jahnvi as says, it easier to say things on this blog which i probably wont in normal life:))
